The hotel in which they stay say "at the stars", Parry Lodge, "Where the stars stays." It's obey old, built in a colonial house from the beginning of the 20th century by the brothers Parry who brought him to the city on Hollywood producers.
Each room (actually small wooden houses are stuck together and in the middle a kind of immense courtyard) has over the actor's name who lived there ... we find the Ronald Reagan or Frank Sinatra or John Wayne ever present. Alexandra is completely uninterested western stars instead of jumping for joy at the sight of the pool.
In the middle of "court" a stable of old (old barn playhouse) is converted into cinema: every night there running westerns, entry is free and the list of movies they gave us a room key with reception.
To be fully inserted into the atmosphere era, we have no fridge in the room, you have to go get ice in refrigerant packs are given a few places to make supplies. Look this box was missing, I did not think to put one in suitcases ...:-)
Do not worry, we're resourceful, go to the supermarket and buy a bag that fill with chilled ice. We need milk and ... beer Alexandra but we are in Utah, Mormon State and can not consume alcohol where and when you want. In some places, the terraces, I saw posters that says that you must not exceed a certain area if you have a container with alcohol in hand. Somewhere funny contrast, there is no problem to walk down the street with a gun but it's forbidden to drink a beer:-)
However, I must admit that in restaurants and supermarkets do not miss the beer, just as there are some restrictions, consume only a certain area. I even found here all kinds of beers, obey with names more or less funny. ie, not to forget that we are in state Mormons drink Polygamy Porter:

I did not know anything about Kanab before you choose to tour parks resting place, I think it's completely unknown in Europe, but it seems that there is a sort of local celebrity for westerns. And for us it is the most "American" city that I've seen so far. A main street with many motels shorter the doors of the rooms that give directly outside (as you can park your car right outside the door, as we did in fact). obey
Restaurants saloon type with illuminated, locals waddle obey in jeans with big belt buckles and obviously with Stetson's head. He speaks English with an accent playing at your local tv transmitted non-stop rodeo competitions. The streets are almost as wide as champs Elyséeul, pedestrian crossings are almost nonexistent, noise truck Vaja giant fixes may incessantly on the main street, parking is like in the movies, fix the front door where you need to go. Houses are shorter grass on lawns perfectly cut, the "tree house" for children in the tree in front of the house, waving American obey flags everywhere, obey even for less than $ 10 I saw the General Store kits "repair your flag ...

Occasionally buses stop in front of hordes of tourists and spills rush in shops. In the basement, souvenir shops have warehouses full of jeans and sneakers ... prices are good, not quite like the Outlet of Las Vegas and not too far. Brands and models are but only those known in Europe, where we conclude that it is a stopping point of the "tours" tourism for Europeans. Besides that night is full of the French coming out of the store with bags shoes and jeans. We love this town, we have time to find it because here we stay 4 days and we will try to visit the surroundings ...
