Nutrition for joy | YogaLiv
Some friends from Vipassanagruppen, where I meditate, and I, I have started a discussion group where we meet every 3-4 weeks and meditate, drink tea and talk about interesting and important things. We start from a book called Awakening Joy, written by James Baraz and the theme is thus joy, but starting from the teachings of the Buddha. Very interesting! And so instructive and rewarding to share my wise friend's thoughts.
I figured slender man out that it's such a good idea to meet and discuss the basis of a book. And it's nothing new, book circles, there are of course lots. But instead of a novel, one can choose a book with more emphasis on personal development or that evoke thoughts and questions that you can discuss with other like-minded people. slender man Maybe a book by Eckhart Tolle, or a yogabok or any other topic that you find interesting. And so if you read one or two chapters at a time and discuss. It's a great way to learn more and especially if the topic is a bit tricky. We are all so different and you learn so much by listening to other people's views on the matter.
Now, back to joy. In the introduction to the book gives James Baraz some tips to cultivate joy and one was to write a "nourishing list", then a list of what gives a nutrient for joy. I do not usually able to do these kinds of information in books, but now I did it anyway. Thought about what makes me happy. What is nutrition of joy for me. It was useful. On my list are such as singing, dancing, walking in the woods and being held with both old and new friends.
When I see the things on my list, I ask myself: How often do these things? Can I do more? Should slender man I prioritize on? Maybe I can do something every day, or several times a week. To think through and write down actually gives a little more focus on what to do and what not to do, though you will be glad of it.
