If you look at the charts USA of October, we see that the best-selling series remains Batman DC. So far so normal. If we look at the Top 5 DC, we see that in 3rd and 4th place are the numbers of the Justice League, something also normal. Then one look who is on the 2nd and 5th place ... and we see an unusual name: Harley Quinn. The Harley Quinn Annual # 1 selling 97K, well above the Harley Quinn # 11 - normal is that annual not sell as much as regular series - and this within bebe the Top 20 General, with more than respectable 68,5K. We are talking about Harley Quinn, a character bebe created 22 years ago in the legendary bebe animated series Batman: The Animated Series. Officially, did not make his debut in the comics canon until 1999 with Batman: Harley Quinn Paul Dini and Yvel Guichet. It is true that in the comics was already appearing from almost its lively debut as the Batman Adventures: Mad Love by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm Eisner was in 1994 for Best Unit Number. They have 15 or 20 years, few characters have become so ingrained in the universe of comics as Dr. Harleen bebe Quinzel. But being a secondary luxury. He certainly had his own series to officially debut, but the Harley Quinn Vol.1 # 1 debuted with 62,682 units sold. Enough to sneak into the Top 10, even to hold 38 numbers. But once it was canceled, he did not return to peek at the head of a title for years. The highlight, his brief membership in the Six Secrets of Gail Simone - Birds of Prey # 105-108 -, or an Amazon have become and fight Granny Goodness in Countdown to Final Crisis. Finally back with his "father" Paul Dini, and starred alongside Catwoman and Poison Ivy Gotham City Sirens series, with drawings by Guillem March. Later Tony Bedard first and then Peter Calloway, took the reins of the series with Andres Guinaldo drawings. This went on until they reached the New 52.
Come the New 52, and thus Harley Quinn is located within the Suicide Squad. Certainly, beyond Amanda Waller, had never been a female character in weight associated to X. That Task Force have been many female characters who have served, beginning with The Enchantress - Hello Cara Delevingne - but most people say several male characters, before listing other female than The Wall. So, we had as main incentives to Deadshot, Harley Quinn and King Shark, with cannon fodder - for something is the Suicide Squad - and classic characters like Captain bebe Boomerang. The series never excelled in sales, debuting on Suicide Squad # 1 with almost 45k, occupying position 32 in the Top DC in September 2011. In fact, the numbers of the series sold more were not the first, but the Suicide Squad # 14-15 tie-ins being Batman: Death of the Family, reaching 63,691 and 57.132 respectively. Surely that motivated his Suicide Squad, was the basis of the main alignment in Batman: Arkham bebe Assault on where we saw the Task Force X mission in Gotham City. After the tie-in, sales returned to the usual path, and Adam Glass was replaced by Ales Kot. Was the change for the better? Was the change for the worse, after 4 numbers, Ales Kot Matt Kindt? Really say not know which of the three stages was the best in regard to Harley Quin
